It was not the first fashion school I have attended, neither my first internship. But Fashion Workshop was the most effective choice for my career.
I believed in Vicky’s and my professors vision and they believed in me. They were there not only to teach me but also to encourage me, to correct me, to reward me and to push me to exceed my limits.
What to remember first? Miss Dada Ioannidou, who not only taught us the history of fashion, but with her lectures and films we became part of each decade. Miss Genevieve Majari who showed us that a picture is never random and hides thousands of messages underneath or Mrs Elena Mavromichali that made even the most inattentive student to love art?
And last but not least, how can I not mention the magnificent Nicholas Georgiou? I was looking forward to the day of his class, my turn to show him my sketchbook and get his look of approval. And then, the fever of creation began! Until the day of the shooting, we were sewing, tearing and looking for the most exquisite materials to use. Nicholas was the reason i hit the red door of the school and I have never regretted it. By his side as an assistant at Dapper Dan and Votre Beautè magazine, I could not feel more blessed.
Thank you Fashion Workshop, everyone from Vicky to the secretaries and the teachers because they were and they are still beside me. And above all, because they taught me that dreams can come true.
